About Geoplaces.org

Geoplaces.org provides virtual content for the physical places in the world.
The database and content is continuously being built, rated and translated to other languages by the Geoplaces community.
Geoplaces are marked by QR code, NFC tag or geo-location. When the user scans the QR code or NFC tag, he gets the description for the Geoplace he visited. If he does the same (or reaches the Virtual Geoplace coordinates) using our FREE iOS or Android app, the Geoplace is checked as visited in his profile.
Tag types:

QR
QR code is scanned using our app and a camera, built in every smartphone.

NFC
NFC tag is scanned by a NFC-enabled device, which makes it run our app.

GPS
GPS Geoplace is marked as visited after reaching the vicinity (less than 50m) of its listed location.
Object types:

STATIC
Static object does not change its location.
Static objects are the typical Geoplaces like buildings, natural wonders or any places worth seeing.

MOVING
Moving object is a special kind of Geoplace, it changes its location in time.
It's typically a transport vehicle, but in general, it can be any moving object reachable by the others. You must be very lucky to find a moving Geoplaces object, usually it's just a coincidence.
Mobile apps:

Geoplaces mobile apps are FREE and available for iOS and Android platforms.
The apps are the best way to look for new Geoplaces and navigate to their location and the only way to log the visited ones or activate your own Geoplaces.
The app allows you to:
- find Geoplaces around you
- filter by tag type, object type, status etc.
- navigate to the Geoplace location using the compass or a map
- scan the QR code or the NFC tag
- log your visit
- write comments, rate and vote
- add friends
- see the geoplaces visited or created by your friends
- get notified when the Geoplace you created is visited by the others
